Gorton was a double winner, sweeping both the one-meter and three-meter
springboard diving competitions. It was the first sweep in his four years at
Kalamazoo and the first sweep for any diver since Pomona-Pitzer College's
Brian Forster accomplished the feat in 1994.

On friday night, Kalamazoo preserved its undefeated dual-meet record by defeating the Flying Dutchmen of Hope College 151-86. On saturday, the Hornets won the 6th annual Michigan/Illinois Quad-Meet with 705 points.

Kalamazoo College's strong tradition of excellence in men's
swimming and diving continued last year as the Hornets completed an
undefeated 7-0 dual meet season, won their fourth consecutive

Tim Ullrey, a student at [Kalamazoo] Central High School, won
the 1999 Regional Diving finals and came in second in the Class A
